Cashback paid in crypto: how USDT payouts work

30.08.2026 · 3 min read

Cashback usually lands on a card or a phone number. When a service offers USDT instead, the first reaction is wariness — crypto sounds complicated. In practice a stablecoin payout is simpler than a bank one, once you understand three things.

Why crypto at all

A cashback service works with stores all over the world, and its shoppers are scattered across dozens of countries. A cross-border bank transfer for a few euros means fees, currency conversion and days of waiting — and some countries payment systems simply do not serve.

A crypto transfer has no borders: a wallet works the same in any country, and the money arrives in minutes.

Why USDT and not bitcoin

USDT is a stablecoin: its price is pegged to the dollar. One USDT is worth about one dollar today, tomorrow and a month from now.

For cashback this is the whole point. Your accumulated payouts do not swing with the crypto market: what you earned is what stays. Bitcoin would be wrong for the job — the amount could change by a third while you save up to the withdrawal threshold.

What you need to withdraw

A wallet. An exchange wallet works — opening one is no harder than signing up for any app — or your own personal one. A wallet has an address, a string of characters: that is what you paste into the withdrawal form.

One detail people trip over: USDT runs on several networks (TRC20, ERC20 and others). The address and the network must match — send on a network that both the service and your wallet support.

Where the threshold comes from

A blockchain transfer costs a network fee. For a 50-cent payout the fee would exceed the payout itself, so services accumulate your cashback up to a threshold — usually a few dozen euros — and only then send it. This is not withholding: everything accumulated is yours and waits for you.

What to do about it

  • Set up a wallet in advance — the withdrawal itself then takes minutes.
  • Check the transfer network: a wrong network is the most common way to lose a crypto transfer.
  • Ignore the bitcoin chart: USDT is not tied to it.
  • What you receive you can keep in USDT, exchange for your currency, or spend directly where crypto is accepted.
